This is Lilly. A spunky tortoiseshell kitten, now at 7 weeks. Lilly was found by a village employee who found her when she was only three weeks old. She came out from under a shed. He waited and looked around, but neither any other kittens nor the momma cat were in sight. Though fluffy at first glance, Lilly was painfully thin and covered in fleas. A protruding spine was evidence that she had not eaten in days. If found a day or two later, she may have had an unfortunate end. Luckily for Lilly, the kind man was an animal lover and bundled her up and brought her to our volunteer who fed and bathed her and picked off her fleas. Later that day Lilly was transferred to the loving home of Marie and Dave Workman, where she would get the attention and care she needed since she had to be bottle fed. Lilly will be up for adoption soon though CCARS rescue-adoption program. She loves to run and chase and play hard, so she would do best in a home with another kitten or a dog to keep her company. The typical adoption fee for dogs is $150.  It includes vaccination, deworming , spay/neuter, heartworm testing on dogs of age and microchipping, which is now mandatory by state law.  Some dogs we discount to as little as $50 due to sponsorship.  Some dogs we ask a higher adoption fee, which helps us recoup expenses on heartworm treatment on other dogs.

All cats are spayed/neutered/vaccinated/flea treated/dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption.  Cat adoption fees range from $60-$100.  We spay/neuter/microchip/vaccinate and deworm all kittens and cats, prior to adoption.  Our shyer/less adoptable cats are classed as "barn cats" and are free with a completed/approved barn cat application, which can be found on our website.
